So, Vonnegut chooses to end the book with Poo-tee-weet in order to allude to the uselessness of commenting on something as horrific as a war. Both Vonnegut and Weide have had to overcome tragedies in their lives. Fittingly, the end credits are a serious of scenes of Vonnegut laughing. He is quick to tell a funny story and is always ready to laugh. Listening to him speak is akin to reading any of his books.
